Amber Heard may be attempting to figure out how to pay her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp‘s multi-million dollar award in their defamation case, as the Aquaman star has just sold her California mansion for sale. TMZ reports the Yucca Valley home recently sold for $1,050,000, with a closing date of July 18.
The home is thought to be Heard’s because it was purchased in 2019 through an unknown trust that is linked to the actress, according to reports. For the desert getaways, the buyer spent just over $570k at the time.
TMZ interviewed the new homeowner of this property. The new owner claimed that he had been working with Heard’s team on the transaction, but never heard from her directly. Heard walks away with around double what she paid for it three years ago, generating a profit of about $480k.
Heard was ordered to pay her ex-boyfriend $8.3 million in damages, but she is attempting to appeal it. Her team claims that she can’t afford it. The claim followed after Depp claimed Heard had violated a confidentiality agreement, according to which she would not badmouth him in the media.
In 2018, Heard wrote an essay for The Washington Post in which she described being a victim of domestic abuse. Despite not naming the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in her article, she had previously accused him of physical violence against her. It’s been rumored that Heard lives between New York and Los Angeles.
Both took the stand and accused one another of sexual impropriety, drugs, and abuse during the highly anticipated six-week trial. Jurors later acknowledged that Heard’s testimony didn’t seem credible to them. She has criticized the media for its reporting on the case since then.
