Season 1 of Amazon Studio’s original series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was a critical and audience darling, and it looks like the studio is expecting a similar, if not better, response to season 2. The streaming service announced on Sunday after Maisel’s 2018 Peabody Award win that the Amy-Sherman Palladino dramedy was officially greenlit for a season 3.
“You’re going to give it to us because we’re bringing home the fancy thing, right?” Sherman-Palladino said to Amazon executives at the conclusion of her Peabody speeech.
Amazon initially ordered two seasons of Mrs. Masiel, but after the series won two Golden Globes and is sure to be a huge contender at this year’s Emmy’s, the season 3 pickup isn’t much of a surprise. The series stars the incredible Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam Maisel, a 1950’s housewife in the Upper West Side who decides to try her hand at stand-up comedy after her husband leaves her. Season 2 is expected to hit Amazon later this year.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
