‘Alien: Covenant’: Exclusive Four Minute Prologue released
20th Century Fox just keep treating us this week with new exclusive teasers for Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant – first it was a full cast image and now an exciting four-plus minute prologue, titled ‘The Last Supper.’
Straight off the bat, the clip suggests the film is distancing itself from 2012’s Alien prequel Prometheus for something a lot more edgy (and scarier.) Fans are provided with a brief introduction to the crew members on board ship Covenant, the setup of the narrative and, a tiny ounce of shock.
Check it out below:
For one second we thought a Xenomorph was going to burst unexpectedly from her chest.
In contrast to Prometheus, this crew seems to be less tense towards each other and a bit more lively – well, more so after James Franco leaves the room. With a cast this big, things are certainly about to get both messy and bloody.
Here’s the official plot description:
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his ground-breaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Alien: Covenant premieres May 19th.
