After unveiling the poster for its fifth season several weeks ago, Agents of SHIELD has finally announced the highly anticipated release date for it!
Before their New York Comic Con panel, it was announced that the fifth season will premiere Friday, December 1st, kicking things off with a 2 hour premiere! In attendance for the panel – moderated by Jeph Loeb – were Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain DeCaestecker, Henry Simmons, and Natalia Cordova-Buckley (who was recently promoted to a series regular). Although the audience in attendance were treated to the first twenty minutes of the premiere, the cast and Loeb were very hush hush about revealing any details on the upcoming season, except to say that Clark Gregg would be directing the sixth episode.
The fifth season will also see the return of Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter as the team finds themselves in space after being kidnapped by a mysterious agency at the end of season 4.
