‘A Million Little Things’ Sees Ratings Rise to a Series High in New Time Slot

Thursday nights are looking good for A Million Little Things. The ABC dramedy returned from its winter break to a nice boost in ratings thanks to the series’ new day and timeslot.

The series, which originally aired on Wednesdays, now airs on Thursdays at 9 PM EST following the network’s other mega-hit drama Grey’s Anatomy. The new timeslot boosted ratings for A Million Little Things to an all-time series high with over a 50% increase from its previous airing (nearly a month ago).

Here’s what ABC’s press release said about the show’s incredible rise in ratings:

[row]”Returning for its first telecast in a month (since 12/12/18),ABC’s “A Million Little Things” shifted smoothly into Thursday’s 9 o’clock hour with a more than 50% increase over its last airing on Wednesday with Total Viewers (+53% – 5.2 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+57% – 1.1/5 vs. 0.7/3), marking its most-watched telecast ever and tying its series high with young adults (equaling its debut). ABC’s “A Million Little Things” tied CBS’ comedies for No. 1 in the hour among Adults 18-49(1.1/5 tied with “Mom”/”Fam”), while beating NBC’s comedies by 22% (0.9/4 for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”/”The Good Place”) and Fox’s “The Orville” by 57% (0.7/3).”[/row]

A Million Little Things features a critically-acclaimed ensemble cast led David Giuntoli, Ron Livingston, Romany Malco, and James Roday. The series also stars Stephanie Szostak, Allison Miller, Christina Moses, Christina Ochoa, Grace Park, and Lizzy Greene.

DJ Nash is the creator and executive producer; Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, and James Griffiths are executive producers. A Million Little Things is produced by ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment.

The official synopsis for the series reads:

Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. A Million Little Things will air on Thursdays at 9 PM EST on ABC starting in January.
