A Highly Dubious ‘James Bond’ Rumor is Inciting Fans into an Uproar

The James Bond franchise is being completely rebooted after the explosive finale of No Time to Die, making it evident that everything connected with Daniel Craig‘s era will no longer be considered canonical. Thus far, all we know about this new chapter in cinema’s greatest undercover agent begins here.

Producers are hunting for a fresh actor to don the 007 tuxedo and embody the brand for the next decade or more – but updates will be limited until further notice.

Bearing in mind the unreliable source and dubious nature of The Daily Mail, it’s best to take any rumor about Phoebe Waller-Bridge being in early talks as “frontrunner” for directing No Time to Die with more than a grain of salt. Afterall, this is the 26th installment in the long-running espionage saga, so accuracy is key!

In spite of being requested by Craig, Waller-Bridge’s attempts to reinstate the more exaggerated components of Bond’s history were largely dismissed. At this point in her career, she has only two directorial credits to her name: a music video for Phoebe Bridger’s “Savior Complex” and nothing else.

Taking an unproven and untested rookie to helm the most groundbreaking James Bond reinvention in decades is a huge gamble, yet we are not entirely confident that Eon will ever entertain such a risk with so much at stake.
