We all know that Sheldon has a very special set of quirks and rules for life, but just how did he become the man he is today? Every now and then, Sheldon would give us little hints to what life was like growing up as a genius in Galveston, Texas. Like the episode where Penny gives him acting lessons or whenever he mentions his twin sister beating him up or when he has Alex sort through his old boxes to find any scientific accomplishments that could lead him to a Nobel Prize.
Well, we might not have to piece the story together ourselves for much longer. The CEO of CBS Les Moonves has announced the pending title for a Big Bang Theory prequel- Little Sheldon.
And guess which character it revolves around.
Les told Deadline to “Picture him as a 10-year-old boy growing up in Texas with a very right-wing family, not used to this 10-year old genius living in their midst- It’s a terrific script and we have a terrific little kid.”
And just last week it was announced that Iain Armitage (HBO’s Big Little Lies, I’m Not Here) has been cast as the 10-year-old Sheldon.
And Scandel’s Zoe Perry has been cast as Mary Cooper, Sheldon’s mom.
And Jim Parsons himself is going to be an executive producer! So the new Sheldon will get to learn from Dr. Cooper himself. I honestly can’t wait to see Sheldon’s backstory!
Stay posted for more updates, once we know them, you’ll know them. The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday nights at 8:00 pm on CBS
