$85,000 Worth of Comics Stolen From Tampa Bay Comic Con

A comic vendor at Tampa Bay Comic Con reported that many of his comics were stolen, including two rare editions that included Spider-Man’s first appearance.
Rick Whitelock of Panama City was vendor at the event and said he had several boxes of comics that he ended up locking overnight in the convention center the night after setting up before the event began. When he got to his booth Friday morning he noticed that a box was missing.
He told the Tampa Bay Times the box had rare books including Amazing Fantasy No. 15 and another book that featured the first appearance of Justice League team of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash. The value of the books that were stolen came to $85,000.
