8 ‘Disney World’ Rides you MUST grab a ‘Fast Pass’ For!

Greetings, Fan Fest! If there is one place that I highly look forward to vacationing to, it is definitely Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. While I appreciate the beauty and entertainment that its sister park Walt Disney Land in California presents, my heart will always be with the World resort.
I recently came back from a trip there just a few days ago, and I have to say that I am absolutely amazed with how much the park has progressed over the past few years! There are so many new additions (and a few replacements) to the parks, that I really felt like I was a little kid once more.
One perk that Disney has is the ‘Fast Pass’, which allows you to skip the occasional super long (and by super long I mean more like suuuuuuper long depending on what time of year you go) standby line. I actually remember when Fast Passes were first introduced back in the late 90’s!
While there are rides upon rides to chose from, here is a list of rides you ABSOLUTELY should put on your ‘Fast Pass’ list for this summer:
8. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom)
This ride catches the eye of both children and adults, providing thrills for all ages. Being as this is one of the few roller-coasters in Magic Kingdom, it surely attracts a lot of attention. At one point I saw that the wait time for the standby entrance was about 120 minutes. Sheesh!
7. Toy Story Mania! (Hollywood Studios)
Although it contains a similar concept to the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom, Toy Story Mania! is double the fun with the interactive characters from one of our favorite Pixar films in this 3D first person shooter experience of a ride. Riders sit in a two person cart, and have to point and shoot at various targets that are displayed in front of them. Some move, some wiggle and some jump right at you! What makes it even more fun and competitive is that you are playing against the person sitting next to you for a better score! This is another ride where I saw the wait time was over 140 minutes!
6. Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
I’ve done both the fast pass and the standby line for this one. If you do decide to do the standby entrance, the line winds through the building where you can see cool displays of reported ‘Yeti’ sightings throughout Asia and pictures of actual expeditions who went to Mount Everest in search of the legendary Yeti. However, I always recommend the fast passes for this one (especially in the morning) because this is a ride in Animal Kingdom that people will for sure flock to. The thrilling coaster has got twists and turns, drops in the dark and… oh yeah… it goes both forwards and backwards! I’ve seen wait times of about 90 minutes for this one.
5. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Hollywood Studios)
For as short of a time as you are on the ride itself, it is definitely worth grabbing a Fast Pass for this one. This thrilling ride is a classic, and can be enjoyed by all ages. Just be forewarned that this ride will raise you up and plunge down into darkness on a fast drop that is unpredictable, and will fill your stomach with butterflies.
4. Test Track (Epcot)
If you’re not quite so ready to tackle something extreme like Expedition Everest but you are still looking for something of a thrill, I definitely recommend Test Track. I mean who doesn’t dream of becoming a famous racecar driver?! However, I recommend this ride before you go decide to tackle the World Showcase for lunch… you won’t be wanting to see it twice!
3. Aerosmith’s Rock n’ Roller Coaster (Hollywood Studios)
Unless you somehow get to the park at the roosters call or shortly after they fix the ride and then open it, you’re looking at an average wait time of about 60 minutes. Since this is one of the few rollercoasters in Disney that goes upsidedown, thrill seekers rush to get on this ride. It’s actually quite enjoyable, and one that you will be wanting to ride over and over again, while you hear your favorite Aerosmith songs blasting.
2. Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
An indoor rollercoaster with high intensity, in the dark and space themed? Count me in! Over the years Space Mountain has definitely maintained its popularity. Even though it could be considered one of the ‘older’ attractions, one thing that hasn’t gotten old is the hype for this ride. Once again, I have seen wait times for up to 90 minutes for this one. This ride is one that you will want to grab a Fast Pass for, for sure!
1. Avatar: Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom)
Out of all the rides I have been on in my life, this one has absolutely hands down got to be my favorite. I don’t want to give too much away, but Flight of Passage takes you on an incredible and immersive journey into the world of Avatar. Being as this ride just opened in May, I expect the popularity for this one to be steady for quite some time. Riders feel as though they ride riding on the back on a banshee, one of the creatures from the magical world. If you are a fan of the ride Soarin’ picture that, but like 550,000 times better! This should be the first ride you grab a Fast Pass for when it comes to Animal Kingdom, as I saw a wait time at one point was 200 minutes! However, given how amazing this ride was, I would say that it is worth it. I was sitting in-between my boyfriend and this dad and his daughter. I don’t know who was smiling and laughing out of pure enjoyment the most between the four of us!
