21 Tweets About ‘Arrow’ Ending That Prove Just How Much the Show Meant to Fans
The one that started it all will soon be hanging its bow. After seven seasons, it’s been announced that Arrow will be coming to an end following a 10-episode eighth season. Arrow, which premiered in 2012, found Stephen Amell taking on the role of Oliver Queen and followed him on his vigilante journey to protect his city and the ones he loves. It was the flagship series in what has now become an iconic DC comic television universe with spinoffs including The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and proved that audiences wanted to dive into the stories of superheroes not commonly portrayed on screen.
Over the past seven years, Arrow has touched and changed the lives of fans all over the world, bringing them together on social media and in real life at conventions and other events. So, it’s safe to say that the news of its final season hit the fandom hard. They’re taking to the internet to talk about why Arrow meant so much to them and to thank the actors, writers, and crew who brought these beloved characters to life. Here are some of our favorite farewell tweets!
The chemistry between these three, the bravery to change canon and go with what was jumping off the screen made #arrow. This show will be missed.. pic.twitter.com/hUvVJncwr6

#Arrow is an incredible show and Stephen is one of the most passionate, dedicated actors to perform any role ever. The show will be missed but it for sure will be a classic. I’ll say probs the best DC entertainment ever made. https://t.co/f3jdFoli1D

Stephen, thank you so much for giving us a character we could relate to and fall in love with. You, @david_ramsey, and @EmilyBett have given us such joy. Words are not enough to say thank you. I for one love you so much and will follow your career, whatever you choose to do. ❤️❤️

There will never be another character more inimitable, more genius, more beautiful, more endearing, more charming, more quirky, or more beloved than Felicity Smoak. Our QUEEN. #Arrow 💘🤓👑🔥💻 pic.twitter.com/S9yNOmGdK3

Arrow has honestly become a part of who I am. I doubt I’d ever be ready to say goodbye. I never expected this show and its characters and fandom to end up meaning so much to me, but here I am—crying over the loss I already feel. Thank you @StephenAmell @EmilyBett & @david_ramsey! pic.twitter.com/yamoR5ZcUG

I think stories beginning in death should end with life. Oliver’s journey began with the death of his father and the loss of his family. It should end with Oliver embracing the life with the family he’s built. #Arrow pic.twitter.com/8mENHP1Eh9

Someone said Arrow is the Iron Man of TV… the end of en era. I couldn’t agree more. It all started with this little show about a rich playboy who marooned on a Island and became someone else. Then Diggle and Felicity came and that’s when all changed for the better. ❤️ #Arrow

They are the ship to end all ships. They changed everything for me. Their love story captivated me and nothing could have pulled me away from seeing their epic journey through to the end. They deserve so much happiness. They are the heart and soul of #Arrow & I’ll truly miss them pic.twitter.com/oYG1LLZASs

Ah man, I’m sad to hear that #Arrow will end after Season 8. I’ve had some real issues with it over the years, but the highs were greater than the lows and I will be forever grateful to it for providing me with so many hours of entertainment.

As a fan of #Arrow since the pilot aired on the @CW_Arrow I just want to extend my love and sincere gratitude for an amazing and explosive series. This series always made my heart pound, feel warmth and sadness on so many levels.. it was always exciting to watch and never missed.

CW’s #Arrow proved that you don’t need a huge budget and a big screen to bring a comicbook character to life that people will fall in love with. Arrow not only made it work on a small screen for 8 years, but is also responsible for creating a live-action DC universe on TV. pic.twitter.com/Zt4t2StBXu

What are your thoughts on Arrow’s final season? Let us know what the show meant to you!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
