Video: Real Life ‘Home Alone’ – Could Anyone Actually Survive?
We’ve all watched Home Alone more times that we can count. But have you ever wondered how bad someone would actually be injured by Kevin’s traps?
Jake Roper and the Vsauce team have just the answer for you. Their channel produces a series called, “Can You Survive the Movies?” They’ve taken a few of the major traps from the film and recreated them to demonstrate just how bad the injuries would be to a person. They’ve recreated pieces of the McCallister home to test the hand-burning hot doorknob, the swinging paint cans, and the crowbar to the chest.
As you would expect, the potential for injury is great with all of these traps. The real Sticky Bandits probably would have either been killed or turned around and went home when they fell on the ice.
Vsauce3 covers the real-world science of fictional worlds: books, video games, and movies. We can learn amazing facts and lessons in every aspect of life, even if it’s virtual. Each of the Vsauce3 shows uncover the awesome reality behind fictional stories, and shares them with the world!
What do you think of the video below and do you think anyone could actually have survived all of Kevin’s traps?

This is post P-90x. I’m saying I watched the videos. I’m not saying I participated. Born in my mom’s basement, I’ve stayed there to embody the stereotype. One day I will rise up… to the main floor of the house.
