WATCH: Mitch Kessler’s Birthday Celebration Flashback Shows Happier Times on ‘The Morning Show’

Happier times once existed at The Morning Show, and Friday’s flashback episode of the Apple TV+ series will give viewers a glimpse into the TMS world before Mitch Kessler’s scandalous allegations.

In the below sneak peek clip, Mitch (Steve Carell) is surprised by his The Morning Show colleagues with a celebration of his 50th birthday party. He’s greeted by co-anchor Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) for an extravagant part, complete with a special surprise from Dicky Lundy (played by guest star Martin Short).

The synopsis for the eighth episode titled “Lonely at the Top,” says, “the people of TMS celebrate the birthday of one of their own as the country struggles with a tragic event.”

In addition to Aniston, and Carell, the series also stars Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, and Janina Gavankar.

Aniston also executive produces along with Kristin Hahn through Echo Films; Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Levy Neustadter through Hello Sunshine; Michael Ellenberg through Media Res, which also serves as the studio; and Mimi Leder, who also directs. The series is written and executive produced by Kerry Ehrin, who also serves as showrunner. Brian Stelter consults on the project, with his book “Top of the Morning” providing additional background material.

Episodes of The Morning Show can be streamed only on Apple TV+.
