It’s been slightly over a month since the new images hit the internet where Joaquin Phoenix’ Arthur Fleck showed his one bad day. Without further keeping you in suspense, check out the new trailer below:
We’ve come a long way from the first teaser trailer in April. Even though the movie will not follow the comics according to Todd Phillips, who did an interview with Empire a few months back, this trailer shows the movie is heading in some kind of direction. Plus we have to keep in mind that the movie was greenlit under the DC Dark label, which means the director gets more artistic freedom to do their films their way with a smaller budget.
What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited about the origin of Joker and Arthur Fleck‘s story into insanity? Do you have any theories on how the storyline will go? Let us know in the comments below.
Joker is directed by Todd Phillips and is produced by Bradley Cooper and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. The movie will star Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, and many more.
Joker will first screen in Toronto International Film Festival on September 9 before it will hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
Read the official synopsis of the film below:
“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.
