‘Spyro: Reignited Trilogy’ Coming to Switch & PC

Credit: Activision

Last year, Spyro the Dragon made his triumphant return as Toys For Bob and Activision teamed up to make Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy. Fast forward half a year later and I’m still playing the hell out of this game. With faithfully reconstructed levels, playful soundtrack and silly added cut-scenes, this is TRULY a love letter to the Insomniac classic! Though there was one thing that was always lacking: a Switch port.

The original Spyro games were Sony’s answer to 3D platformers like Mario 64. So historically speaking, it’s easy to see why they never were in a Nintendo system. Though the game design of the original Spyro games would work perfectly on a portable console like the Switch. The smaller self-contained levels would be perfect for traveling as they would allow for both quick play and longer gameplay sessions.

Well at Nintendo’s E3 showing today, Activision and Toys For Bob answered our prayers! Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy is not only coming to the Switch; but PC as well. Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy will be released on September 3rd so you won’t have to wait too long. Now you can play through these 3 iconic games whenever and wherever you want! With this wish granted, I guess now I can start on a new Spyro-related wish:

Please let Toys For Bob create an entirely new Spyro Game…

Anything yet? *shurg* Maybe next E3! *fingers crossed*
