LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Game Coming 2020
It was announced during the Microsoft press conference during E3 that a new LEGO Star Wars game is in the works. The Skywalker Saga will cover all nine movies in the Star Wars franchise, with episodes VIII and IX being completely new to the LEGO world. The game will be available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.
According to Tom Stone, TT Games managing director, “The game will give fans an all-new LEGO Star Wars experience with complete freedom to explore the LEGO Star Wars galaxy. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the launch of the original LEGO Star Wars game and it’s equally exciting to now move the series forward and help create a new era of LEGO Star Wars games.” It’s been 3 years since the last LEGO Star Wars release, which found The Force Awakens getting its own game.
The Skywalker Saga will boast a massive roster of playable characters. From Qui-Gon Jinn to Kylo Ren, the possibilities are endless. The game is based on the numbered Star Wars movies, but there’s always the possibility that Rogue One or Solo could end up as DLC or bonus levels. Characters from the two will more than likely be playable.
From the way the developers are talking, Skywalker Saga won’t be a carbon copy of the games that came before. Everything is being reimagined and expanded upon. There is also the ability to explore the galaxy, which is reminiscent of the open-world feel of LEGO Batman 3. The possibilities will be endless.
The Skywalker Saga joins another upcoming Star Wars video game releases. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action game, which focuses on the events following Revenge of the Sith. Fallen Order will be available late 2019. It’s a great time to be a gamer and Star Wars fan.
