Lost alum and Hellboy’s Daniel Dae Kim is joining Anna Kendrick and Toni Collette in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Stowaway. Also starring Shamier Anderson, Stowaway comes from the creative team of Joe Penna and Ryan Morrison, who recently teamed up for the 2017 film Arctic, which Penna directed and co-wrote with Morrison.
Stowaway follows “the crew of a spaceship headed to Mars that discovers an accidental stowaway (Anderson) shortly after takeoff. Too far from Earth to turn back and with resources quickly dwindling, the ship’s medical researcher (Kendrick) emerges as the only dissenting voice against the group consensus that has already decided in favor of a grim outcome.” Kim will be playing a biologist on the spaceship. Much like Arctic, Penna will be directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Morrison.
Daniel Dae Kim quickly became a fan favorite on ABC’s Lost, where he played Jin-Soo Kwon for the series’ six-season run. After that, Kim headed straight over to Hawaii Five-Oh where he starred as Chin Ho Kelly all the way through 2017 when he left the show. More recently, Kim has been executive-producing ABC’s The Good Doctor where he recently stepped in front of the camera for a recurring guest-star as well as appearing in the David Harbour Hellboy reboot. Next up, he will star alongside Ali Wog in Netflix’s rom-com Always be my Maybe.
