Did You Catch This ‘The Walking Dead’ Cameo on ABC’s ‘The Kids Are Alright’?

Tuesday night’s episode of ABC’s The Kids Are Alright gave viewers the series’ very first The Walking Dead reunion… technically.

Over the past couple of weeks, series creator Tim Doyle and star and The Walking Dead alum Michael Cudlitz have been teasing appearances from multiple special guest stars from Cudlitz’s recent past. The first of those guest appearances happened in this week’s episode titled Mass for Shut-Ins. The catch, however, is that viewers never actually got to see this special guest star grace their television screens. Instead, a fellow Walking Dead co-star lent his voice to the ABC show for this episode.

Take a listen to the quick snippet of a scene below. Pay close attention to the DJ’s voice. Can you figure out which Walking Dead star was giving away Led Zeppelin tickets for KYWW?

Did you figure it out? Here’s a hint if you’re still struggling: his character on The Walking Dead only has one hand and goes by the name Aaron.

That’s right! It’s none other than Mr. Ross Marquand lending his vocal talents to The Kids Are Alright. Marquand is quite gifted when it comes to doing impressions, and he nailed this voice role as a 70s radio DJ. While he never physically appeared on the series, and it was difficult to decipher just whose voice that was, the series end credits confirmed Marquand’s role. Marquand’s role delivered more than just one line in the episode. At one point, both he and Cudlitz got to have a little phone conversation which may or may not have cost the kids their one shot at winning their coveted concert tickets. You’ll just have to watch the episode to see how it all turned out.

In addition to Marquand, another familiar The Walking Dead guest will be appearing (on screen this time) in a new episode airing in just a few weeks.

The Kids Are Alright is an ensemble comedy set in the 1970s and follows a traditional Irish-Catholic family, the Clearys, as they navigate big and small changes during one of America’s most turbulent decade. The series is inspired by the childhood of writer/executive producer Tim Doyle, who also narrates in voiceover as older Timmy.

In addition to Cudlitz, The Kids Are Alright stars Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Martin Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard. The series just recently wrapped filming on its first season and is likely for renewal in the upcoming weeks.

The Kids Are Alright airs Tuesday nights at 8:30 pm EST on ABC.

What did you think about Ross Marquand’s guest role on Tuesday’s The Kids Are Alright? Were you able to figure out who he was just by listening to his voice? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
