Ben Platt Joins James Corden for a Flawless Performance of “Soundtrack to a Bromance”

12 songs. 9 sets. 1 take….Zero pressure.

Proving yet again that he is the master of viral YouTube sketches, James Corden is back at it again with a new installment of his “Soundtrack to a…” series. The premise is simple. Corden and his guest(s) will perform a catalog of songs to make up some sort of story in one take. Previous skits included Billy Eichner and Anna Kendrick in “Soundtrack to Growing Up”, Emily Blunt in “Soundtrack to Romeo & Juliet” and Anne Hathaway in “Soundtrack to a Rom-Com”.

Well, Corden is back for another round and this time he’s brought Broadway darling Ben Platt to perform “Soundtrack to a Bromance”. The skit follows the friendship between two boys as they face the ups and downs of life together on their way to adulthood. While Corden is an extremely talented singer, the notes and riffs that Platt is whipping out while running between sets and changing costumes is absolutely unmatched. That Tony Award for Dear Evan Hansen was well deserved. Check out the video below.

Here’s the full list of songs the duo performs!

“I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends” (The White Stripes), “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” (The Beach Boys), “We Are Young” (Fun.), “Graduation (Friends Forever)” (Vitamin C), “You’re My Best Friend” (Queen), “9 to 5” (Dolly Parton), “Shots” (LMFAO), “All By Myself” (Eric Carmen), “So What” (Pink), “One Week” (Barenaked Ladies), “Hello” (Adele), “With a Little Help From My Friends” (Joe Cocker).
