First House Announced for Halloween Horror Nights 29!

Universal Studios Orlando is not shy about returning to popular wells for their events.  They did it with The Walking Dead houses which ran for four years, and again with American Horror Story (2 years) and The Horrors of Blumhouse (two years running).  Heck, they have had The Purge at their event in some shape or form for the last five years.  So it should come as no surprise that the first house announced for the hotly-anticipated Halloween Horror Nights 29 would be the mega-popular follow up to their mega-popular Stranger Things maze from HHN 28.

The new house will be based on the second and forthcoming third seasons of Netflix’s fan-favorite series which, which follows the adventures of a group of kids in the 1980s as they navigate an otherworldly conspiracy that has taken over their small, Indiana town.

Here’s the announcement, direct from Universal’s press release:

Okay, mouthbreathers, get ready! Netflix’s Stranger Things is returning to Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights.

This year, you’ll experience an all-new haunted house where you will travel back to the small town of Hawkins, Indiana and walk-through some of the most terrifying scenes from Stranger Things 2 and 3.

Not only will you come face-to-face with snarling Demodogs, but you will also make your way through iconic scenes and locations, from Chief Hopper’s cabin to the Starcourt Mall.

And the best part? This new version of the Stranger Things haunted house is also coming to our sister park, Universal Studios Hollywood. The haunted houses on both coasts will parallel the hit show as it leaps forward to 1985. And to prepare for the scares, don’t forget to watch Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 on July 4, 2019.

Get ready because this is just the beginning, with ten haunted houses, five scare zones, and live entertainment still to be revealed for The World’s Premier Halloween Event.

You can find the video of the announcement here.  Stay tuned to FanFest, as we will post announcements for all the mazes arriving at Halloween Horror Nights 29 in the coming months.
