‘Marco Polo’ Alum Lorenzo Richelmy Joins Mike Vogel in ‘Triangle’ Pilot

Another popular TV name is heading to the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Deadline reports that Marco Polo star Lorenzo Richelmy has been cast in one of the leading roles for ABC’s upcoming Lost-esque drama pilot Triangle. The Italian actor joins The Brave’s Mike Vogel and The Glades’ Matt Passmore who have already been cast.

The series follows “a family who is shipwrecked in this strange land where they must band together with a group of like-minded inhabitants — from throughout history — to survive and somehow find a way home.” Now, Vogel will be playing the patriarch of the family who finds themselves new to the island. Richelmy will be playing Ham, “one of the residents of the Triangle, a former pirate and a rogue who is skeptical of newcomers.” The series will be written by Tru Calling’s Jon Harmon Feldman and Life on Mars’ Sonny Postiglione.

Richelmy starred as the titular character on Netflix’s Marco Polo, which aired for two seasons from 2014-2016. It followed the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th century Mongolia. Other credits include Ride, Rainbow: A Private Affair, and the upcoming series Sanctuary.
