“Sucker” Just Gave The Jonas Brothers Their First No. 1 Single

I think we all knew just how big of suckers we were for the Jonas Brothers to begin with, but after they dropped their first single in six years nothing could stop us from listening “Sucker” on repeat for three days straight. Well, it looks like our nostalgia paid off. “Sucker” just debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving the band their first No. 1 single ever. They shared the news on social media with a compilation video of Nick, Kevin, and Joe reacting to the news.

According to their caption, the honor makes them the second group to ever debut at number one (Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was the first) and the first group this century to debut at No 1. Prior to “Sucker”, The Jonas Brothers’ bonafide bop “Burnin’ Up” was their highest ranking single landing at No. 5, but the boys are back with a new sound and a new outlook “Sucker” was able to take them places they’ve never been before. After just a little over a week, the video has 64 million views on YouTube.

The Jonas Brothers first split back in 2013 after revealing that the band had become “toxic” and it wasn’t until they began filming a documentary about their journey a year and a half ago that they started toying with the idea of a reunion. After a lot of conversations and thought, they knew that it was the right time to come back and we couldn’t agree more.

“There was a time I wasn’t sure if I was ever going to be able to make music with my brothers again, let alone have a number 1 song on the Hot 100 on Billboard. … This is gonna be an unforgettable ride. Get ready!” Nick said in an Instagram video celebrating the news.

Their documentary will be premiering on Amazon sometime this year hopefully, and it sounds like a tour is also on the horizon for the trio. What a time to be alive!
