Sean Gunn Says “Everything’s Going to Work Itself Out” for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3′

The future of the third Guardians of the Galaxy film currently remains a mystery, but if you ask actor Sean Gunn, he’s pretty optimistic that everything will fall into place, and that the film will get made.

This week, Gunn, who starred in the first two GoTG films as fan-favorite Ravager Kraglin, attended the premiere of Marvel’s soon-to-be newest blockbuster smash hit Captain Marvel. While on the red carpet,  Variety caught up with Gunn and asked him about the current state of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 3 film. Gunn, of course, has remained quite close with his brother, director James Gunn, who was removed from the GoTG 3 film in the summer of last year. He says that, despite all that happened, he still feels the film will get made, and that everything will work itself out.

Gunn said: “I don’t know exactly how that’s all gonna work, but I feel like we are going to make the third movie, I’m excited to make it, I think it’s a disservice to the fans if we didn’t make it and I know the people who worked on the ‘Guardians’ movies are really a family, and we’re gonna come together and make the best movie we can regardless of who’s in charge. I just have this feeling everything’s gonna work itself out.”

In July of last year, the Marvel universe received quite a shakeup when Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was removed from the film franchise. Disney/Marvel made the decision to sever ties with Gunn after a series of offensive tweets were uncovered from his past social media history. Since then, James Gunn has received an outpouring of support from the full Guardians of the Galaxy cast including Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and has even landed a new project with Warner Bros./DC. Gunn will be directing the studios’ upcoming new Suicide Squad film. As for the future of the Guardians of the Galaxy, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
