Preorders for Square Enix’s Xbox One and Nintendo Switch releases of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are now live. While both remakes were previously released on the PlayStation 4 console, this is their first time appearing on the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
In celebration, Square Enix has released a new poster for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster combines two classic PlayStation 2 titles into one comprehensive package complete with updated graphics and modern gameplay enhancements. Final Fantasy X follows the story of Tidus, a blitzball star in his town before a mysterious evil destroys everything he has ever known, as he meets Yuna and travels with her in hopes of taking down Sin, a terrible demon at the heart of the world’s misery. Since its release on the PlayStation 2 Final Fantasy X has sold over 14 million copies and continues to be a benchmark Final Fantasy title.
Final Fantasy X-2 is the first legit Final Fantasy sequel, taking place two years after the events of Final Fantasy X. This time you play as Yuna who travels alongside Rikku and Paine as you again fight to regain control of Spira. New gameplay modes and a new fighting system led Final Fantasy X-2 to stand out from its predecessor and has rightfully gained a place among Final Fantasy’s best.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be released on April 16th, 2019 on the Xbox One console and on April 30th, 2019 on the Nintendo Switch and has an MSRP of $49.99. You can view a trailer for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster below:
Final Fantasy XII follows the story Vaan as he fights alongside Princess Ashe for the Dalmascan throne as war rages between the empires of Archadia and Rozarria. Having sold nearly 6 million copies since it’s release on PlayStation 2, Final Fantasy XII is a unique entry in the Final Fantasy canon and showed that Square Enix was not afraid to switch up the known Final Fantasy style. This remaster features reworked game design, including additional gambit slots, an improved New Game+ mode, 60 FPS on the Xbox One console, a license rest function and remastered HD visuals.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be available on both Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch on April 30th, 2019. First run physical copies of the game will include a reversible coversheet. You can view a trailer for the Final Fantasy XII remaster below:
