Are you ready nerds and nerdettes? Are you ready for the twenty-four inch pythons to run wild on you? Are you ready brother?!

Hulkamania will run wild once more in an upcoming biopic about the man who many consider the face of wrestling, Hulk Hogan according to The Hollywood Reporter. Who will star as the Hulkster? Chris Hemsworth will play the role of the man who became the face of the World Wrestling Federation thanks to Vince McMahon in the that will focus on Hogan’s earlier years and his rise to fame and fortune in the 1980s.

Hemsworth is not the only person linked to the project, which is in its early stages of development. Todd Phillips will direct the feature, while Scott Silver and John Pollono are set to pen the film. Numerous people are also lined up to produce the feature including Michael Sugar abd Ashley Zalata, under Sugar23, Todd Phillips and Bradley Cooper, under Joint Effort, Eric Bischoff, and Chris Hemsworth as well. Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman will also co-produce this project.

While the film is in its early stages, no one can deny that with so many people’s efforts to bring Hulkamania back to the forefront audiences will soon tell each other again to take our vitamins and say our prayers once more. Fans have admired Hulk Hogan for years and continue to look forward to his guest appearances on Monday Night Raw. His latest appearance occurred on January 7, 2019 to pay tribute to the late great Mean Gene Okerlund.

With such a long and illustrious career within the wrestling industry, the film will essentially became an origin story of Hogan’s early career instead of an all encompassing biopic of his life.. We will discover the man behind Hulk Hogan, Terry Gene Bollea, and how he quickly became a hero within the World Wrestling Federation after a stint in the Florida wrestling circuit. The ups and downs of wrestling during that time period will always be something worth focusing on.

I cannot help but wonder if there will be more than one biopic for Hogan’s life. In many ways Hogan’s life spanning three decades in and out of the wrestling ring lends itself to a trilogy of biopics. While this is just speculation on my part, making various movies spanning the 80s, 90s, and 2000s could be a smart move as wrestling fans new and old would watch numerous films about the wrestling legend.

If this occurred though would they be able to sign on Hemsworth for three installments? I cannot say but after looking at Hemsworth and Hogan side by side I do think they made an incredible casting choice. Is this one I would have necessarily saw before now? Not so much. Now before the film is even made I cannot imagine anyone else playing the beloved wresting star.

What do you think about this casting decision? Do you think Hemsworth is the perfect choice? Is there someone else you would have cast as Hogan? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to come back to FanFest for future updates regarding this project!
