‘Black Widow’ Working Title Revealed

Black Widow’s solo film is looking to start filming in June 2019 in the United Kingdom, this was announced after the production would be slightly delayed. Instead of filming this month, it looks as though we may have wait for any sneak peaks.

However, it has been revealed that the working title of the film is Blue Bayou.

Not only did I struggle to pronounce the second work but I also didn’t know what it all meant. Thanks to Comicbook, we have an idea of what it could mean but there is actually no indication of what it means in relation to the solo spin-off.

“Blue Bayou” was a song written and performed by Roy Orbison that was later sang by Linda Ronstadt in 1977, maybe there are secrets in the lyrics. It is also the name of a restaurant in Disneyland… although I don’t think that’s what connects the two together- although I have heard their Jambalaya is delicious.

Of course, working titles do indeed change and they have done many times. So while it is not 100% confirmed that “Blue Bayou” will be the official title, it does raise some interesting questions. What does it mean? Is it important to the story? Only time will tell.

If you’re unfamiliar about Black Widow’s solo film, you can read more here.

Here is the official synopsis:

“At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action movies to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.”
