News for Fans, By Fans!

There Is A Nintendo Direct Coming Today!

Wahoo! After quite a bit of waiting, including this reporter writing an entire piece about our wait, Nintendo is finally answering with a Nintendo Direct tomorrow! It will start at 2pm PST and 5pm EST, last about thirty-five minutes, and will be all about the Nintendo Switch!

The tweet reads- Tune in 2/13 at 2pm PT for a Nintendo Direct featuring around 35 minutes of information on upcoming titles, including new details on Three Houses!

The Fire Emblem news is definitely exciting. The last game in the series was Fire Emblem Warriors for the Switch and 3DS, a Dynasty Warriors take on the franchise, and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the 3DS, a remake of the 1992 Fire Emblem Gaiden for the Famicon. This will be the first traditional style turn-based RPG of the series arriving on the Switch, and the first new title since Fire Emblem Fates hit the shelves in 2015. I have dropped the trailer below for those interested.

What kind of mystery titles could we see though? I know everyone is patiently waiting for that information. Nintendo already has mentioned they have several unannounced titles that will release this year. Could they be the rebirth of some older, beloved franchises like Earthbound or StarFox? Maybe more spin-offs with Ubisoft or another studio like Mario/Rabbids was? I think one thing we should be able to count on is that we will not hear anything about the next entry in the Pokemon series. It just seems a bit too early for something likely to hit in November or December.

We know Nintendo is bound to feature a lot of indies, and most likely will show off Yoshi’s Crafted World, but beyond this and Fire Emblem: Three Houses the door is wide open. The next fighter for Super Smash Bros Ultimate sounds like something we will hear about, and I am crossing my fingers that we finally find out when we will get our hands on Animal Crossing Switch and Luigi’s Mansion 3. In any case, set your reminders and bookmark this link so you can see for yourself tomorrow!
