‘Arrow’ Recap ‘Star City Slayer’

If you thought that Star City would be safe now that the entire ‘Team Arrow’ was reunited as Deputized Police Officers, guess again.

This week, the threatening messages from the ‘mysterious stalker’ continued. Dinah, Diggle and Rene all received them – proving that there was a madman out there set to take out Team Arrow. While Oliver’s teammates continued to receive a series of notes, Oliver found himself struggling to connect with William once more after learning William was expelled for getting into a fight at school. At ARGUS, Curtis informed Diggle that he was offered another job in D.C – and he was seriously considering taking it, as this would be a job where he could actually help people.

Elsewhere, the ‘Star City Slayer’ tracked down and killed, a man named Kullens, a former associate of Ricardo Diaz and a similar threatening note was left behind with his body. After learning that the victims didn’t fight back against their attacker, Dinah called Captain Singh in Central City to compare it to a former case they had years ago. At his apartment, Oliver attempted to speak to William about what happened in school. During their conversation, Sammantha’s parents (Williams Grandparents) came over and informed Oliver that William called them and they felt it was best if William came to live with them.

Curtis conducted some more research and learned that the victims had been drugged with Mivacurium, a Neuromuscular blocking agent that would not show up on a tox screening. Curtis tracked down a house in the glades where a shipment had been delivered, and the team suited up and headed out.

The team split up and began investigating the house, where they discovered a ‘Slabside’ prison uniform. Dinah found a scrap book containing newspaper clippings of Oliver, showing that he was going to be the next target. As Dinah went to inform the others, her throat was slashed – revealing Stanley, Oliver’s former prison mate, to be the Star City Slasher. Stanley fled, but Curtis managed to save her life using a new tech that he programmed into his T-Sphere.

Stanley invades Oliver’s apartment, after slipping the drugs to Oliver, Felicity and William through the ventilation system. He informed Oliver that it was him who was killing all the others as well as sending the notes to the members of Team Arrow. After going off on a tangent, Stanley made to hurt Felicity – but was stopped when Oliver was able to move enough to grab a glass bottle and break it over Stanley’s head.

At the hospital, the Team visited Dinah. Curtis then informed both Diggle and Felicity that he would be leaving Star City, and taking the job in DC. Back at Oliver’s apartment, Oliver agreed that it would be best for William if he went to live with his grandparents so that he could have a chance at a normal life. While Oliver talked to William, Felicity got a call from Dr. Schwartz.

In the closing minutes of the episode, in a flash-forward scene, we learned that Blackstar’s true identity was Mia Smoak – the daughter of Oliver and Felicity, and half sister of William.
