‘The Big Bang Theory’ cast gets emotional over series ending

This Thursday, CBS revealed that we have made it to the final 10 episodes of The Big Bang Theory.

The cast, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, and Mayim Bialik, gave one of their final television interviews as an ensemble during The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, and they revealed that they are having a hard time keeping it together.

Cuoco, who plays Penny, shared a moment that she had with Galecki, who plays Leonard, and the crew that involved a scene ending with a big group hug.

“We’ve been getting super-emotional. We were doing a scene before the holiday, we were just blocking, and we were the only two in it, just kind of rehearsing the scene when, out of nowhere, I just started bawling,” said Cuoco. “And the crew, all the camera guys and everyone came out and said, “We’re so glad you cried cause we’ve been waiting to cry” and they all gave us this big group hug and we all just cried for, like, 10 minutes.”

Parsons, who plays Sheldon, told Ellen that he hasn’t cried yet. “I have a very deep fear – seriously – that the most unexpected thing is going to happen. I’m going to absolutely lose my sh*t.”

“It really is profound, the amount of time of your life, and it’s, like, more than, I think, any of us can get a grip on,” he said. “I’m worried something is going to trigger me, like deep down, something is going to be, like, ‘Oh! I didn’t know that was there! That hurts,” Parsons added.

“It still feels hypothetical,” said Galecki. “I think at the end of this coming summer when we’re generally meant to come back (it’ll feel real).”

Helberg, who plays Howard, joked that “In the unemployment line is where we will all break down.”

The final 10 count down has begun with the series finale premiering in May.

The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS at 8 pm.
