‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Stranger Things’ Named Most In-Demand Series In the World

Two incredibly popular shows received a pretty prestigious honor recently.

AMC’s The Walking Dead and Netflix’s Stranger Things were both crowned the most in-demand series in the world last week at the Global TV Demand Awards. The Walking Dead received the honor for the most in-demand television series while Stranger Things was honored for being the most in-demand digital series.

The data for the awards was compiled according to Parrot Analytics, which according to Deadline, “measures how much a TV series is wanted in over 100 markets around the world, across all platforms.”

On hand to accept the award for The Walking Dead was producer Denise Huth as well as series stars Pollyanna McIntosh and Josh McDermitt. Huth shared the award on her Instagram page with a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the fans for the honor. She posted, “The Walking Dead was named The Most In-Demand TV Series in the World! Seriously, the WORLD! It was such an honor to attend #natpemiami with @pollyannamcintosh and #joshmcdermitt to accept this award on behalf of the entire #TWDfamily. Thank you to all of our incredible, passionate and loyal fans all over the world who have taken this journey with us over the past nine years. You are the best! We were also told this means we will be in the Guinness Book of World Records for 2018. Which just boggles my mind to be honest with you. Hi #bucketlist!”

Both series are currently on break but will be returning this year. The Walking Dead returns on AMC on Sunday, February 10th for the second half of its ninth season while Stranger Things will release its third season on Netflix this summer on July 4, 2019.
