Nyle DiMarco (ANTM and DWTS) is continuing to break down barriers between the deaf and hearing communities. This time, he’s using Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” to help his cause.

On Friday, Grande released her “7 Rings” music video complete with closed captions.

This came after DiMarco asked her and Vevo via Twitter to incorporate closed captions for her “Thank U, Next” video. Grande responded by saying “@Vevo this is such a dope idea! please see this!”

“Captioning enhances the viewing experience,” DiMarco told Out at the time. “It should be a standard part of any filmed media, and not as an afterthought, but as a part of the ultimate golden standard of universal design.” He also explained that closed captioning isn’t even that expensive.

Now DiMarco has dropped a video of his own, “7 Rings” in American Sign Language. Jake Willson (@jakewil on social media and YouTube) directed the video with DiMarco’s help. After posting the ASL version, Wilson posted a video thanking DiMarco and Grande for this experience.

“To be honest, I’ve never been this excited to share something with the world. I’ve done a bunch of these alternative versions of videos while putting my own spin on them. But this one feels particularly special. I’m so honored to be able to share this with the deaf community and beyond grateful for Nyle DiMarco for guiding me every step of the way,” Wilson signed in the video. “Thank you, Ari, for the endless source of bops and inspiration and also for including closed captions on “7 Rings.” Hopefully, all other artists follow suit.”

What’d you think of the video?
