Oscars 2019: The Full List of Nominees for the 91st Academy Awards

Marvel/WARNER BROS. ENTERTAINMENT INC. AND METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER PICTURES INC.

Tuesday morning kicked off with the 91st Academy Award nominations and as usual, there were some awesome surprises and some pretty noticeable snubs. Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani and black-ish’s Tracee Ellis Ross announced the nominations which found Black Panther getting a Best Picture nomination, making it the first superhero film to ever receive the honor. The most nominations (10) went to Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz’s The Favourite and Netflix’s Alfonso Cuarón foreign drama Roma. The three women of The Favourite all went on to receive acting nominations while Cuarón received one for Best Directing.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an awards show without some major snubs. Bradley Cooper was surprisingly left out of the Best Directing category for A Star Is Born, although he did receive a Best Actor nomination. Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carrell were both absent from the acting categories despite phenomenal performances in Amazon Studios’ Beautiful Boy. Personally, I was upset to not see John Krasinski receive a nomination in directing for A Quiet Place.
