Chandler Riggs from ‘The Walking Dead’ is returning to TV

It’s been a year since we last saw Chandler Riggs on our TV screens. It won’t be long before we see him there again, either.

Riggs has revealed that he will be returning to TV!

We last saw Riggs as Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead. He stepped into the role in 2010 and left in the season 8 mid-season finale when Carl was bitten by a walker. During his time on the show, Riggs has made a name for himself in the acting world. He’s also established a successful music career. (seriously, check out his music)

“It wasn’t just Carl dying, it was also me leaving the show and kind of moving on to other things,” Riggs said of filming his emotional death scene when exiting the show, now in its ninth season. “So in many ways, it was pretty symbolic just for the cast and crew, just for me to be leaving the show in the first place, it was a pretty big deal for all of us. And yeah, it sucked, and it was many long days, but I’m really happy with how it turned out and I’m really happy with my performances and I’m happy with how I left the show.”

Since his departure from the show, Riggs has also booked two films. One is crime-thriller Inherit the Viper, which stars Josh Hartnett and Bruce Dern, and the second is sci-fi Only, which features former Walking Dead stars Joshua Mikel and Jayson Warner Smith.

Not much is known about Riggs’ new show, but we hope more will be revealed soon!

The Walking Dead returns with the rest of season nine Sunday, February 10 on AMC.
