‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Gameplay Has Finally Gotten Over Here

Get over here Mortal Kombat fans! We just witnessed “The Kommunity Reveal” event in Los Angeles and finally have plenty of new information on Mortal Kombat 11! Let’s start with with first gameplay trailer-

Well, they did not skimp on the blood and gore right? The first reaction is the fighters. We already knew Scorpion and Raiden were going to be a part, but we have the added addition of Baraka, Scarlet, Sonya Blade, and my favorite Sub-Zero. It looks as if Liu Kang will at least be in the game, and I think that is his son with him from X?

After the gameplay trailer was shown, Ed Boon graced the stage to bring us a match or two so we could see Mortal Kombat 11 in real action, plus show a couple of new moves off.

One of the most amazing things coming to Mortal Kombat 11 is the gear system from Injustice 2. After the match between Baraka and Scorpion, Boon showed us plenty of examples of what you will be able to do. You will be able to pick between three variations of each character, but you will be able to customize them to your liking with different gear and costumes. Given the looks of the gear, it may affect certain stats and attributes, similar to Injustice 2.

Other noteworthy news from the reveal-

  • Ronda Rousey has taken on the role of Sonya Blade, and she is very excited about it

  • A new fighter named Geras was revealed, and he apparently wields sand and time (the Sands Of Time maybe?)

  • The story to this looks very dark and picks up right where Mortal Kombat X left off. Raiden is straight up tired of being pushed around and he is going to take matters into his own hands. We also see X’s villain Shinnok in the trailer.

  • Lastly, there is a limited collector’s edition of the game. It will feature a 1:1 replica of Scorpion’s mask. Not much more is known, but run to your closest retailer or sit on the WB Games store webpage to get your hands on what is sure to be a minimally produced edition.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 23rd. You can pre-order now and receive beta access March 28th, and Shao Kahn as an additional fighter when you pick up or download your copy.
