After nearly eight years of dragons, battles, and devastating deaths, the final season of Game of Thrones is finally among us. Seeing that we didn’t have any episodes in 2018, it’s safe to say that we are more than ready to dive back into the happenings of Westeros. It was announced earlier this week that HBO would reveal the Game of Thrones’ season 8 premiere date before Sunday’s episode of True Detective and that they did. So, are you ready to find when we’ll see who will win the game of thrones?
Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere on HBO on April 14, 2019. Not only did we get a premiere date, but we also got a brand new teaser! Check out the teaser, which focuses on Jon, Sansa, and Arya reflecting on their past and preparing for their future, below.
The final season, which will feature six episodes, has been promised by the cast and crew to be emotional, action-packed and feature film length.
So, while the end of Game of Thrones may be near, fear not – there’s a prequel on the way! Starring Naomi Watts and written by Kingsman writer Jane Goldman, the prequel takes place thousands of years before Game of Thrones and “chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. Only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”
