Cryptic Pictures of Sheep On Various STEAM Game Pages Hint at A Catherine Release On PC

Strange things are afoot on various Steam video game pages as pictures of sheep and the word “Baa” have popped up on two pages so far, possibly hinting at a port of Atlus’s puzzle classic, Catherine. Both the Valkyria Chronicles 4 page as well as the Bayonetta page have been effected so far.

Catherine was originally released in 2011 on both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 where it enjoyed strong critical reception due

to its wild story involving a man named Vincent struggling with the moral quandary of how to grow up for his girlfriend Katherine while also trying to figure out what was going on with a new girl  – also named Catherine – that he keeps waking up in bed with but cannot seem to remember actually spending the night with. The story, along with the game’s stress inducing puzzles, cartoon like graphics and its rather strange obsession with sheep kept audiences and critics enthralled.

Sheep are prevalent throughout Catherine, hence the reason why I got to write perhaps my strangest headline ever today, as everybody Vincent has met appears to him as sheep during his nightmares, which a large portion of the game takes place in.

Of course, Steam could just be having fun with us, or heck – could have been hacked. But that seems very doubtful, especially since the MSRB recently posted a rating for something called Catherine Classic, which we can assume is the original version of Catherine as opposed to the upcoming re-release/remastered version set to arrive sometime this year for both the PS4 and PS Vita entitled Catherine: Full Body. The addition of Catherine to Steam would make sense and would be perfect timing. It would also be the first Atlus game to ever be released on Steam, hopefully paving the way for more of Atlus’s great games to make their way to the service.
