Marvel fans are getting ready and gearing up for the season 2 premiere of Marvel’s The Punisher which is reportedly coming to Netflix in January 2019. While the streaming service has teased Frank Castle’s return for season 2, an official premiere date has not yet been revealed.
Even though a premiere date isn’t yet known, there’s no better time than now to refresh your memory on all the craziness that went down in season one. One year ago, the series announced that it would be returning for a second season. With the recent happenings between Netflix and Marvel, fans feared that the series might fall subject to another surprise cancellation.
Recently, the streaming service announced the cancellation of three Marvel series from their platform. Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil have all gotten the ax within the past few months, though both Netflix and Marvel have teased the possibility of those show’s characters living on in the future. Daredevil, a fan favorite and one of Netflix’s top shows, was perhaps the most surprising of the announcements. For now, however, it appears that The Punisher is safe, at least for this upcoming second season.
