Director James Wan Reveals an Awesome ‘Aquaman’ Easter Egg Engraved on Atlan’s Trident

When director James Wan created the visually stunning world for Aquaman, he made sure to pay attention to every single intricate detail. As a result, the film has some pretty cool Easter eggs hidden for eagle-eyed fans to find, including a hidden Annabelle doll and a fun nod to Wonder Woman. Wan recently took to social media to share one of the more meaningful hidden gems built into the film.

He posted a behind-the-scenes and up-close photo of Atlan’s trident revealing a secret inscription engraved onto the prop itself. The inscription is more than just random symbols. As it turns out, the creative team actually created a whole Atlantean alphabet specifically for the film. The Atlantean letters inscribed on the trident spell out, “Paul & Mort.” This is a direct reference to Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the original creators of Aquaman himself. You can even see the inscription in the film’s posters and promo shots. Now, that’s a pretty cool Easter egg reveal!
