Mark Hamill is also returning to reprise the role of Luke. Fans were happy to hear that Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher will appear as Lando Calrissian and Leia (via archival footage) as well. We can look forward to scenes featuring Matt Smith, Kerri Russell, Richard E. Grant and Ackie in the about 2 hour and 15 minute film. Rey, Finn, Rose Kylo Ren and Poe also have to take up a good chunk of it. The film, after all, will star Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver in the forefront. Another creature who is rumored to appear much less are Porgs. Apparently, they’ll be featured little to none in the upcoming trilogy ender.

According to Making Star Wars, well also be seeing a brand new type of Storm Trooper in the film. The new elite trooper with be called the Red Dead Trooper. The website describes it as a “a solid red Stormtrooper with black stripes.”

They add,

“The trooper does not appear to be one of the red pilots from Star Wars Resistance, but it almost sounds like they were developed together.” They looked like the image below.

They explained one theory they have, “Elrik Vonreg from Resistance might be an unused design for this new Episode IX trooper, but that’s a guess”

They reveal a bit more about them, and then conclude the post saying,

“The trooper is not just a First Order Stormtrooper painted red either, as the helmet is different. Ironically, we did hear the trooper was a pilot but for all we know these are like Death Troopers and they can fly ships too. We also can’t confirm there are more than one in the film at this time.”

The Death Troopers mentioned above were seen in Rogue One.

Making Star Wars gets their news from direct sources apparently who work out of Pinewood Studios, and people who attend marketing presentations and meetings revolving around the franchise.

Rey, Kylo Ren, and Finn will likely face more challenges in the film solidifying their place in the Resistance, and furthermore the galaxy as we wrap up the trilogy and prepare for the next chapter.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
