Get ready to be hooked all over again as Entertainment Weekly has just dropped an exclusive first look at Killing Eve Season 2 over on Instagram.
Villanelle (Jodie Comer), possibly TV’s most charming serial killer, is back and things look pretty rough for her after the shock stabbing at the end of Season 1. Will she be able to get back on top without the help of Konstantin or The Twelve?
Sandra Oh’s Eve Polastri doesn’t appear to be handling things too well since the events in Paris either, and it seems as though her links with MI6 and Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) are far from over.
Killing Eve has been on almost every must watch list and round-up of 2018, garnered high amounts of critical praise and even been nominated for two Golden Globe awards (Best Television Series – Drama & Best Actress – Television Series Drama, Sandra Oh) so Season 2 is sure to delight fans of the fascinating duo.
Killing Eve, has been adapted by Bafta Award-winning writer and actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) from the novellas Codename Villanelle. Produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd (The Durrells, SS-GB), Killing Eve centres on two very different women.
Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfil her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two fiercely intelligent women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.
Starring Sandra Oh as Eve, and Jodie Comer as Villanelle, the series – a combination of brutal mischief making and pathos – is filled with sharp humour, originality and high-stakes action.
With all the twists in turns in the first season, it’s almost impossible to know where these ladies are going to turn next, but it’ll be a thrill watching it for sure. Killing Eve Season 2 is due to air in Spring 2019.
