‘Dreams’ Beta Waking Up This Week For PS4

The makers of Little Big Planet have been silent concerning the beta for their next project. Media Molecule has finally has lifted the lid of the details and the news is good! Dreams will finally go into beta starting on December 19th, TODAY! There are a few catches however.

The access is restricted to the ones who have been following Media Molecule through newsletter first. This is a new type of game they want to do right, so keeping things small during the busiest time of year makes sense. For everybody else, you will have the opportunity to sign up for a chance to play on January 4th. After that, the devs will start sending out the invites in waves on January 8th.

The test will run until the 21st, and while they want to get as many in as possible, space is limited. The beta will be under a non disclosure agreement, so if you wanted to sign up in hopes of streaming or writing about it (as I would have liked to), you will have to wait a bit longer for that. Media Molecule also wants as much feedback as you can give them for this test so they can know how things are working and how better to adjust the game.

Other details were also left of Media Molecule’s blog. You do have to be 18 to participate, as is Sony’s rule with betas. The story mode will not be available, only the creation mode (I assume this is similar to Little Big Planet’s creation mode). Local coop is available but not in editing mode, and VR functionality will not be enabled. Lastly, your progress will not carry over, it will take about 4gbs of space, and do not even try signing up for the newsletter for beta access, they are only honoring sign ups from before December 7th.
