Jennifer Garner and ‘Alias’ Boss J.J. Abrams are Reuniting for New Apple Series
Patience will be paying off for Alias fans as Jennifer Garner and J.J. Abrams are teaming up for new limited series for Apple’s upcoming streaming service. According to EW, the series will be called My Glory Was I Had Such Friends and is based on Amy Silverstein’s 2017 memoir.

Abrams (Lost, Star Trek) will be serving as an executive producer alongside Westworld’s Ben Stephenson and Silverstein. Karen Croner will be writing and executive producing. My Glory Was I Had Such Friends will reunite Garner and Abrams who worked together on ABC’s drama series Alias. The series, which followed Garner as a young woman who learns she has a familial history of undercover work and agrees to become an international spy for a supposed secret branch of the CIA, aired for five seasons from 2001 to 2006.
Despite not having any official launch information, Apple’s original programming lineup is one of the most impressive and star-studded to date. Steve Carell recently joined the cast of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s morning talk show comedy series. Captain America star Chris Evans just signed on for a new series titled Defending Jacob, which is based on William Landay’s 2012 best-selling novel. Those two series join the already announced catalog including Jason Momoa’s See, Aaron Paul and Octavia Spencer’s Are You Sleeping?, Joel Kinnaman’s untitled space race drama and It’s Always Sunny’s Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney’s new comedy.
My Glory Was I Had Such Friends doesn’t currently have a premiere date. What do you think about the series? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
