On Saturday, Skybound Games dropped a brand new trailer for the next episode in season four of The Walking Dead game. In addition to dropping the trailer, they also announced that episode three would officially be released on January 15th.
Just a short while ago, it was announced that Skybound had rescued The Walking Dead game after Telltale had disbanded. On Sunday, the voices of Clementine, Melissa Hutchison, and the voice of Lilly, Nicki Rapp took to the panel stage at Walker Stalker Con New Jersey to talk about the transition over to the Skybound family.
First, they spoke about the day they learned that Telltale, as a company, was ending. Melissa said she was actually in a recording session and had to stop. She said:
“It was like something out of a movie. It was very dramatic. I was in a recording session for the final season when the ax dropped and the session had to stop. We had about an hour left. There was a mandatory meeting that two of the writers had to attend. It was very dramatic.
I cried myself into physical pain. It was about two weeks of hell. I mean, that’s pretty dramatic.”
Luckily for Melissa, Nicki and the fans of The Walking Dead game, Skybound swooped in and saved the day! Melissa found out the good news via Twitter. She said:
“I was on vacation and I got a call from Dan Murray, President of Skybound Games. I chose not to answer my phone. Later on, I looked at my phone and the Twitters were like, ‘Clem’s still not bitten!’ That was the day that Robert Kirkman announced it at New York Comic Con.”
Nicki also learned the news through social media. She said:
“Somebody set me a message on Instagram and said Skybound had saved the game. I was so relieved.”
Now, that the game is saved, the story of Clementine and Lilly can continue out to completion. Check out the newly dropped trailer for the upcoming 3rd episode below.
