American Horror Story fans; have no fear. Series creator Ryan Murphy says your favorite coven of witches will be back for another spellbinding season of the FX anthology!
Murphy recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight at his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star ceremony where he confirmed that the American Horror Story favorites will be returning in an upcoming season. When asked about whether or not viewers can expect to see a sequel to the Apocalypse season or if the witches will be back, Murphy definitively answered, “The witches will be back!”
He went on to continue saying, “Not next season, but we have something really fun planned.”
The latest season of American Horror Story was themed around the apocalypse and brought together two of Murphy’s most loved past seasons, coven and murder house and included the return of fan-favorite characters played by stars Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, and Stevie Nicks. The buzz on social media was that American Horror Story: Apocalypse was one of the best seasons yet of the series, so fans would be thrilled to go another round with the coven witches once more.
As for how that will happen or what’s in store for viewers in the next season of the series, Murphy wasn’t yet at liberty to discuss. When asked for more information, he confirmed that the foundation is set, but he’s not saying anything more. He said, “I can’t say what it is! I’m going to this luncheon, and many of the Horror Story actors are there, and I’m going to tell them for the first time. I have to tell them first.”
Much like in past seasons, the new American Horror Story theme will currently remain a mystery, but knowing Murphy, he’ll surely begin dropping clues as soon as he possibly can.
