Ryan Murphy’s highly anticipated Netflix series The Politician has added another A-lister to its ranks. Dylan McDermott confirmed on a SiriusXM radio interview on Monday that he will be joining the series, which already features a star-studded cast including Gwyneth  Paltrow, Jessica Lange, January Jones, Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Lucy Boynton, and Zoey Deutch. The Politician will revolve around the political aspirations of  Payton (Platt), a wealthy Santa Barbarian, and every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in.” The series is also expected to feature some musical numbers. In his interview, McDermott revealed that he would be playing a “con man living a life that’s just a lie.” His character will be married to January Jones’ character.

Murphy has teamed back up with his Glee partners Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan for The Politician, which also reunites the trio with Dreyfuss, who appeared on the beloved musical series’ final season. Netflix clearly has a lot of trust in the creative team as they already picked the dramedy up for two seasons.  The Politician is the latest addition to Murphy’s already impressive new series roster which includes the recent FOX hit 9-1-1, FX’s Pose, as well as an upcoming drama starring Sarah Paulson titled Ratched. Those three join his Emmy-award winning anthology series’ American Crime Story and American Horror Story.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn't be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own "Pepperwood Chronicles'.
