Zac Efron Shares New Photo as Ted Bundy for ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’

20th Century Fox

Our favorite Zac Efron may be a singing and dancing Zac Efron, but we have to admit that we’re looking forward to him showcasing his dramatic acting chops as he steps into the role of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy for the upcoming film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

Efron had been very active on his social media accounts sharing behind the scenes shots during filming earlier this year, but with the movie heading to the Sundance Film Festival in a couple of months, he was gracious enough to reveal a fresh new look at him in character. Check out the menacing pic below!

The film, which will be directed by Joe Berlinger and written by Michael Werwie, is told from the perspective of Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), who was with him for years, living in constant denial before she eventually turned him in. It was only towards the end of his trial that Bundy began speaking in detail about the heinous and grizzly crimes he committed, shocking both Kloepfer and the world.

In addition to Efron and Collins, Extremely Wicked will also star John Malkovich as Judge Edward Cowart, who presided over Bundy’s highly televised murder trial in 1979, Jim Parsons as Larry Simpson -the lead prosecutor, and Maze Runner’s Kaya Scodelario as Bundy’s ex-wife Carole Anne Boone. What do you think about Zac in character? Are you looking forward to him taking on such a manipulative and evil role? Let us know!

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn't be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own "Pepperwood Chronicles'.
