‘The Walking Dead:’ Danai Gurira Warns of The Wicked Whisperers

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been advised to heed the warnings from Walking Dead cast members, who are warning of an even bigger threat than Negan ever was in the second half of season 8.

We have gotten a taste of what The Whisperers are serving up when they shockingly morphed from walkers to agile knife-yielding humans, stabbing and killing Jesus.

Even though Negan spent his time bashing in heads with a painfully spiked bat, Michonne actor Danai Gurira says we’re looking towards something even more horrid.

Speaking with Comicbook.com, Danai says,

“Now, it’s a brand new battle to fight in a whole new way. This is not Negan. This is not the Governor. This is a very pernicious group of people.”

The show’s executive producer Denise Huth adds the Jesus’s death makes such an impact because it’s shocking. You’d expect a walker bite, not a walker stabbing.

“No one expects Jesus to be caught off guard. He was just one of those characters who could handle just about anything. Our characters have learned to survive in this world. They’re no longer in a place where they’re losing people all of the time. They’ve figured out to thrive in this world. There are families. There’s growth. There is life. Life is coming back. So, to have someone as vibrant and as full of life and as kind as Jesus be cut down like that, it makes them all vulnerable. “

Jesus went down fighting, and he fought pretty impressively for his friends. He died an honorable death, but that doesn’t make it any better. It also doesn’t mean he’s the last to die such a death.
