Well, this news is totally “fetch”! In case you hadn’t heard, Ariana Grande is well underway filming the music video for her latest single “thank u, next” and it’s paying homage to some of the great female comedies of the 2000s in the best of ways. In a series of Instagram posts, Grande slowly began revealing some of the movies she would be recreating including Legally Blonde:
Bring It On:
And Mean Girls:
It’s already shaping up to be one of the most talked about music videos of the year and it hasn’t even premiered yet! To make things even better, Grande decided to cast Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett to reprise his role as Aaron Samuels in the video.
The actor and now Cake Wars host shared some photos of the duo on his social media pages over the weekend.
It’s safe to say that fans were more than thrilled by Bennett’s involvement:

Bennett marks the second confirmed cameo by an actor who appeared in one of the “thank u, next” inspired movies. The first was Legally Blonde’s Jennifer Coolidge aka the woman who taught us all the “Bend & Snap!”
Since Mean Girls first hit the scene in 2004, Bennett has appeared in a variety of roles both on TV and the big screen. In 2015 he began hosting Food Network’s Cake Wars.
