Nathalie Emmanuel Cast in Hulu’s ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ Series
With the end of Game of Thrones quickly approaching, the cast is finally getting the opportunity to spread their wings and take on some new roles. Nathalie Emmanuel, who has played Daenerys’ confidant and friend Missandei on Thrones since season 3, has been cast to star in Hulu’s upcoming Four Weddings and a Funeral series, according to Deadline.
The series will feature a similar premise as the 1994 romantic comedy, which starred Hugh Grant and Andie McDowell. It will follow “four American friends who reunite for a fabulous London wedding. But after a bombshell at the altar throws their lives into turmoil, they must weather a tumultuous year of romance and heartbreak. Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course, there are four weddings… and a funeral.”
Emmanuel will be playing a character named Maya. She is joined by You’re the Worst’s Bradon Mychel Smith, Vikings’ Jennie Jacques, Run Fatboy Run’s Harish Patel as well as Nikesh Patel, Rebecca Rittenhouse and John Reynolds. Andie McDowell will be guest-starring as Mrs. Howard, the mother of Rebecca Rittenhouse’s character.
Emmanuel has starred as Ramsey in the last two Fast and Furious films as well as the second and third Maze Runner movies. Other credits include Hollyoaks, The Titan, and Twenty8k. She will be returning to Game of Thrones for its final season, which is set to premiere next April.
Hulu’s Four Weddings And A Funeral will be written and executive produced by The Mindy Project’s Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton. It is about to start production with the hopes of a 2019 premiere on the streaming site.
