DC Universe Series ‘Swamp Thing’ Casts Virginia Madsen As Maria Sunderland

The DC Universe streaming service seems to be hitting home in the last weeks, especially with Titans series getting better by the episode. It’s only fair that they keep this going for the streaming service.

It seems like they are doing precisely that, like the Swamp Thing series that will hit the streaming service in 2019 cast Virginia Madsen for the part of Maria Sunderland! Madsen is known for her roles in Candyman (1992) and The Number 23 (2007). Maria Sunderland switched her old life of privilege for a life living near the swamps of Marais for her her husband, Avery Sunderland (who’s not cast yet for the Swamp Thing series). Her husband, however, is obsessed with the swamp and it drove their marriage apart.

Not a lot is known about the show, but we do know that Swamp Thing which is written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman will follow Abby Arcane in a small town in Louisiana, and she will examine a new deadly swamp virus. Of course, this leads her to a discovery of the swamp having terrifying secrets that she will stumble upon, but this will make the show very interesting. Could this be an origin centered show? Or will this more be like a show where they discover the monster that lies in the swamp?

James WanMark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman and Michael Clear are the executive producers of the show. Len Wiseman is the director and Rob Hackett will co-produce the Swamp Things series.
