Disney and Marvel Announce a Loki Live-Action Series

Loki lovers, we have perhaps the best news all week!

According to Disney’s latest press release, Marvel’s Loki is getting his own live-action series.

The Walt Disney Company announced the name for the streaming service as well on Thursday; Disney +. Yes indeed, it’s also confirmed that Tom Hiddleston is reprising his role as the adoptive brother of Thor.

“Disney+ is also assembling a live-action series centered around a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, [Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger] today confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on Loki, the god of mischief, to star Tom Hiddleston.”

Hiddleston posted the following message to his instagram shortly after the news broke. “Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come.”

There have been rumors about such a series for the past few months, and now we can gladly and confidently look forward to seeing more of Loki. With this news, we hear nothing about the other rumored series. That would be one focused around Scarlet Witch.

The release included lots of other good news, including the announcement of a Star Wars series about Cassian Andor starting Diego Luna. it will be a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Jessica Jones director Deborah Chow and Thor Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi were also confirmed to be working on The Mandalorian. Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) will also be joining in to work on the series.

Moreover, another Star Wars series was confirmed, which will serve as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series will revolve around Cassian Andor with Diego Luna reprising his role from the 2016 film.
